Bold & Gold Filtration Media is currently being used in experimental projects in North Carolina to evaluate nutrient reduction capabilities. Bold & Gold was estimated to remove 46-58% of total phosphorus in an urban on-line up-flow filter and an off-line filter in Florida. Designs should minimize backwater since P contributions were recorded when backwater conditions existed (FDOT, 2014)<ref>FDOT. 2014.
