4 years agoIn speaking with many researchers at the ASCE LID Conference, it has become apparent that there is a marked difference between "infiltration" and "hydraulic conductivity". In fact, the drawdown (infiltration) of many LID facilities is 8-16X the measured Kfs. STEP produced a free training video which says as much. Therefore, while I do not have a recommendation to address this within the wiki, I would like to emphasize the importance of doing so. I get a lot of push back when it comes to any sort of retention in areas with clay soils that "don't infiltrate". I know STEP has some great data re: infiltration in clay soils (e.g. Elm Drive); is there some way that the F.S. or guidance converting Kfs to a DIR can be improved to better reflect true LID performance?
